Save Europe' s Last Primary Forests

Help achieve a strong European Forest Strategy by signing this petition to Julia Klöckner, Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture!

Germany has a huge responsibility: its hunger for wood, paper and pulp is destroying the last natural and primeval forests in Europe. In the second half of 2020, Germany will assume the Presidency of the EU Council. We demand that Federal Agriculture Minister Julia Klöckner pushes for a strong forest strategy and binding implementation of forest nature conservation measures including:

  • Mapping natural and primary forests
  • Introducing binding protection of all mapped areas
  • An end to illegal logging
  • Strong consistent efforts to bring those who violate forest nature conservation laws to justice
